Why We Need Family Worship
Created for Worship
"We were made to worship the One, True, Living God. It is the highest end of our life, the truest aim, the sincerest goal."
Worship Belongs at Home
"Worship is not just a Sunday thing—it's a daily thing, which makes it a family thing."
Exposed Weakness
When COVID lockdowns stopped church programming in 2020, many seemed disconnected from God—revealing our need for home-based spiritual practices.
God Is Worthy of Our Daily Worship
He is Creator
"Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name." Psalm 29:2
He is Merciful
"His mercies never come to an end." Lamentations 3:22
He is Faithful
"Great is your faithfulness" Lamentations 3:23
"It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night." Psalm 92:1-2
The Biblical Foundation for Family Worship
Genesis 18:19
"For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord."
Deuteronomy 4:9
“Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your children's children—”
Deuteronomy 6:6-7
"You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house..."
Psalm 78:5–7
“He established a testimony in Jacob… which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them… so that they should set their hope in God...”
Ephesians 6:4
"Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."
A Father's Sacred Responsibility
Lead
Take spiritual leadership in your home through loving, sacrificial service.
Teach
"Make them known to your children and your children's children." (Deut 4:9)
Model
Demonstrate what it means to hope in God through your own worship.
Nurture
"Train up your child in the way he should go." (Prov 22:6)
For Those Without a Spiritual Leader
Single Mothers
God sees your faithfulness as you bear this mantle alone. While not ideal, He honors your leadership in guiding your children spiritually.
Widows
Your continued spiritual leadership in your home matters deeply to God, who has special care for widows throughout scripture.
Wives with Passive Husbands
Though challenging, your faithful example can nurture faith in your children and potentially inspire your husband.
